on Monday we walked to Yolk for brunch, I had the corned beef hash with scrambled eggs, pancakes, and a cup of coffee - this was my favorite meal during my time in Chicago! we then walked to Navy Pier which isn't the most hoppin' place - not what it's cracked up to be and I don't like birds so I didn't love it (I've gone before, but I wanted to give it a second chance!). walking around Michigan Avenue was fun! we window shopped and stopped in some places like Zara, Dylan's Candy Bar, Crate and Barrel, etc. - it's nice to be in stores you don't have the opportunity to go in everyday! we walked a tonnnnn but it was worth it, we had to stop by the hotel to drop off our shopping bags and give our feet a rest though! after lounging around the hotel room for a bit we went to Millinium Park to take some photos during sunset (my friend is a photographer so she had some shots she wanted to get during the "magic hour"). thank Google I found the cutest bakery ever.... we headed over there after the photoshoot. the bakery of the dreams is called Goddess and the Baker and gorgeously stylized and filled with fantastical baked goods, salads, sandwiches, coffee, tea, and everything you could want - even booze. I had the iced matcha latte and ordered the hipster version of what I know as a "Magic Cookie Bar" (one of my most favorite baked goods) their version called the "Dream Bar." my friend bought some popcorn at Garrett Popcorn (super famous for their delish popcorn...) and I sampled the delish popcorn! for dinner we ate at Mario Batali's Eataly where I ordered spaghetti.... well I thought I did.... I let my American interpretation on spaghetti get the best of me and expected a meatball, noodles, and red sauce - but that was not what I received! it was still really good though and Eataly was a super cool place to eat, drink, shop, or just get lost in. it was pretty late when we left Eataly so we hurried back to the hotel to crash for the night and have our treats from Goddess and the Baker for dessert. overall it was a gorgeous day of feasting, touring, and taking in the Chicago scenery! Chicago and out! britney
